Our story

Soldà Ski Wax was born from an authentic passion for winter sports, experienced firsthand before ever being produced. Its roots are deeply embedded in the history of Italian and international skiing, in an era when the difference was made not by technology, but by the determination of those on the slopes.

It was during the 1932 Lake Placid Winter Olympics that the idea destined to change the industry took shape. Gino Soldà, an athlete on the Italian Olympic team, competed in Nordic skiing events in a difficult technical context: limited materials and a clear gap compared to nations with a more advanced industrial tradition. It was from this experience that the desire to bridge that gap was born, creating waxes capable of offering superior performance even to Italian athletes.

From the Olympic experience to the birth of excellence

In 1934, Scioline Soldà was officially established. From its very first years, the brand became a benchmark for athletes across all winter sports disciplines, accompanying them through decades of competition, passion, and success. Soldà waxes are chosen by champions and teams that have made skiing history, including Zeno Colò, Roberto De Zolt, Magda Genuin, Cristina Paluselli, and the Fiamme Oro of Moena.

The company’s growth was fostered by a unique setting: the proximity to the Dolomite slopes and the support of the chemical industry in the province of Vicenza, which allowed for continuous experimentation, innovation, and refinement of formulations.

Continuous innovation, generation after generation

In the mid-1970s, the company entered a new evolutionary phase with the arrival of Manlio Soldà, Gino’s son. A top-level chemical technician and alpine ski athlete, Manlio brought a modern and scientific vision to wax development. This is where the combination of field experience and technological research became the brand’s true strength.

Some of the most appreciated waxes worldwide were created and established, such as F40, HP04, HP05, S32, MetalJet, PowerJet, and Ski Oil, used by professional athletes often even outside officially sponsored circuits. Today, Scioline Soldà is the flagship brand of Sport Performer, an efficient, lean, and performance-oriented company. Decades of experience represent the DNA of the products and form the basis for constant technological improvement, developed in collaboration with major international chemical companies, prestigious universities, and top-level athletes.
